How we pick products and check facts

This page describes the process behind every checklist and product pick on GameBeat. It is the same process for every article; nothing on the site is exempt.

How is a topic chosen?

We start from a buyer question, not a product. Questions come from our public backlog: questions such as “does this connection carry microphone audio?” or “which keys disappear on a compact keyboard?”. For launch buying guides, we search for relevant original documentation, directly read primary sources and record which claims they support. Future product posts also require a documented search brief comparing three to five relevant originals. We do not copy them; we write the missing parts.

Where do the facts come from?

Specifications, compatibility rules, connection limitations and warranty terms come from official pages: manufacturer support, Microsoft display documentation and OSHA workstation guidance, and manufacturers’ product pages. Every article lists those sources at the bottom and shows the date the facts were checked. When an official source does not say something, we say it is not stated rather than guessing.

How is a product pick chosen?

A product pick covers one product in one of our six categories (headsets, mice, keyboards, monitors, chairs, capture). Before a pick is published:

  1. The product link is opened and confirmed to land on the exact model and option described (connection, colour, switch, layout or size).
  2. Specifications are copied only from that product page or the maker’s official page.
  3. The article explains who the product fits, who should skip it, and what to confirm at checkout.
  4. The post must pass an automated publish gate that checks the disclosure, link consistency, sources, length, and banned phrases such as invented first-hand testing.

What do we never do?

  • Print Amazon prices, stock, or star ratings.
  • Claim to have tested a product we have not tested.
  • Publish fake reviews, ratings or testimonials.
  • Use product photos we do not have the right to use.
